Hi I have been really busy trying to finish my car for the summer cruisin but it seems to be slow going, but I am still having fun doing it so I guess it all OK. I'm in the process of street rodding a 1963 Comet Custom. I have taken 2" from the roof height and shaved the handles and some other variuos items and am now begining to smooth up the body. Thank goodness my wife likes to work on it too because it helps to have an extra pair of hands on the job.

Sounds like you have been busy! Thank goodness for that second set of hands. It really does help. I bet it's great... If she says she wants to spend quality time together all you have to say is great! lets work on the car. Kill two birds with one stone so to speak!

Yeah she is really great about coming out and gitting dirt under her figer nails too. The most fun she has is snitching the 54 chevy 210 we have done when I'm at work. She thinks it's cool to go to the grocery store and have the bag boy drool all over the place. She helped build this one too. I do believe that she puts more miles on the car then I do. I can't wait to have the Comet on the road that way I can also have some fun driving around in something a little cooler than my Kia.

Hahaha, I bet she enjoys driving that 54 Chevy. Do you have any pics of her(the car that is). Sounds like a good car. Those Kia's save some gas money dont they? I resulted in buying a old Honda to save me some gas money this weekend.

Wow!! your right on the gas price part, but you know we have to pay i guess if we want to play with the toys. I am becoming even more concerned about the deal the government is doing to try to stop our favorite past time. I see where they want to put a stop to guys that do work in thier garages by not selling paint or other related products to anyone except registered body and mechanic shops. I don't know about you but if I had to pay to have some of the stuff I do on my cars I would go broke. I do everything my self, paint, body work, rebuild engines etc. Think of that price tag. I enrolled in SEMA to keep up and sign patitions to help keep our sport alive. All interested should sign up also the more the better.

yea those gas prices are crazy... its really taking its toll on the custom community. It makes it hard for us to enjoy what we do when we have to go waiste 60 bucks at the pump.

yes, make sure to keep up with the SEMA news, sign those petitions!!!!!

Gas prices are crazy but I guess I will still take the hit to have some fun cruzin because for me it's still about the cheapest thing to do on a Saturday night. You asked about a picture of my car, well at the moment my computer at home did a crash and burn so I use this one at work at lunch time. I will send a few as soon as I have my new computer up and running. I was just wondering if you found a project yet or if you have decided on what you would like to build.

Yea, it really is the cheapest thing to do.

Sorry to hear about your computer, stupid technology i tell ya!

I have always wanted an old Impala, its just a matter of finding one that i can afford. Which right now is not a whole lot. So im still just browing. I mean if i find something thats a must HAVE then of course ill jump on the chance but until then im only keeping my eyes out and seeing whats on the market

Yeah when I found the Comet it wasn't even the type I was looking for, but when I saw it I knew it would make a super street beast. My new computer is to be delivered all ready to go the 1st of next week, can't wait. Now that the comet is almost done the wife asked me whats next, she should know by now not to ask because that means to me it's OK to start a new project. I have my eyes on an 83 dodge pickup short bed that is just crying to have something done to it. You know the usual stuff like air suspension, shaved handles etc. I can see it now. The only thing is my son is 16 and he can see himself behind the wheel already, OH WELL

Yea, Im hoping i find a car the just jumps out at me and just screams BUILD ME UP!!! That dodge pickup sounds like it would be a fun project. Its always good when the wife is asking what your gonna build next. It saves some of the headache of trying to convince her to get some new toy for you to play with in the garage. I bet your sons excited about that pickup , I would be to if i was his age

The Caddy sounds cool. I had a 1966 Pontiac that I sold to a guy in Sweden a couple of years ago. From what the guy told me he collected Pontiacs and had a small museum type setup for all of them, I wish I could remember what part of the country he is in over there, but oh well nice to here from you and to know the hobby is alive and kickin over ther too. On the pickup my son is excited, in fact this is really the first time he has shown any real interest in working on one. I hope he fired up and likes to do this type of stuff also once he does it (HOPE_HOPE) TTFN

that caddy does sound cool, its also really cool to see how far this hobby spans as well as this website

Well im glad to hear that your son is getting into it. I bet he will get all into it and have a blast. Its a good way to spend some time together! You crack open a beer... and give him a root beer and start working on that truck!
