This one I think is going to be a winter project. I don't see any time thru this summer to do more than look it over and decide where to start. My buddy said he was going to take some of the outer stuff off such as bumpers and trim. He doesn't know if he is going to go to the expence of rechroming but knowing him he will. He works for GM and his kids are grown and his wife is a nurse and I have seen his projects in the past and the money thing is no real issue for him. He sold his 39 Ford coupe last fall so all he has for this summer is his 1970 Chevelle 454 SS, poor guy.

Yeah too bad he is not adopting because he could have a sweet car built for me then. The only thing is I'm older than he is so it would be hard for me to call him dad, you know what I mean. I guess I'll have just have to use the profit I make from doing the work on his car.
How have things been for you, keeping busy on the magazine? I should have said magazines. How is your Dad doing you haven't said anything about him for a while.

Dad's doing real good he is finally getting used to being single again. He does miss Mom still of course but after 63 years of marriage that's normal.
He is out looking for an old car to do also. Well it would be more me doing but I would do it in a heartbeat for him. He would like to find a Metropolitan or a Bantom American. He says he has too much trouble judging the big cars so he wants to keep it small. He did go look at a Crossley and is considering it. It doesn't need too much just mainly some TLC so he says, I've never seen it.

Im glad to hear hes doing good. I can understand him missing her. 63 years sure is a long time. I cant even imagine that.

My grandparents had a metropolitan when i was a kid, those things are cool haha. I wouldn't mind having one!

are you going to go look at the crossley?

I am if he makes his mind up that he wants it but he may hold out a while for a metro. With him it is hard to tell at times it depends on his mood at the moment.
From what he says the condition is good so if he is right and there is not a lot of hidden body work I'd say go for it and if he comes across the other then sell the Crossley and but the Metro. The only thing is if there is bad body work hidden under bondo but if it has been done right or hopfully never had anyhting done to amount to anything would be a hugh plus

Went and looked at the car Dad was thinking about and he was right it didn't look too bad until we looked under it. The patch work wasn't real good and I figure it would cost more to tear it apart and rebuild than just to look and find something in better shape so the look for the Metro is on again. Dad is funny, he keeps reminding me he is going to be 88 in July so taking too much time to find one may not be a great idea but buying something that needs that much work isn't in the cards either.

Yes in fact. The foreman at the shop I work at dureing the day has been working on a Factory 5 Cobra and I have been going over to help off and on with the body work. He is comeing along quite nicely with it. He hopes to have it out by the end of summer or before if he can have extra time to work on it. I am painting a 96 4x4 f-150 and working on a 70 Pontiac Lemans. The Lemans needs stripped to bare metal due to the paint cracking. The body is in great shape with only a few rust spots. I am helping my son with his truck and triing to get the 54 ready for paint, thank goodness the wife is helping with it and the Comet when I can fit it in. Other than that at the moment I really don't have much to do but come later in the summer I have a few lined up.

I relax on Sunday and spend the day with my wife and son and do verious stuff. I do keep hopping most of the time and thank goodness my wife helps alot.
I like what I do so it really does not seem like all that much although there are times I become a little overwhelmed but you'll have that I guess. I normally don't do too much during July and August and spend that time on some of my own stuff and with the family.
