Yea, i agree, I wouldn't pay that much either.
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. My father had a heat attack and had to have bypass surgery this past weekend. Its been very tiring.

I'm sorry to hear about your Dad, I hope it all went good. I went through the same thing with my Dad in 1992. We were in Florida and at first we thought he may have had too much sun but decided to take him to the E.R. and found out he had a heart attack. He had to have a 4 way bypass. He will turn 87 on the 25th of this month and he has not had any real problems since the surgery. It's amazing what they can do to help people live a better life when something like that happens. It makes you think how lucky you are to still have him around I'm sure. Does your Dad do much with cars? Mine did a little, mainly mechanical when needed he never got into building them like I did but still enjoys helping whenever he can.

My dad is doing great, thank you. This was his second bypass surgery. He had a 3 before and he had a 4 bypass this past Saturday. It really is amazing what they can do now a days. My dad never really built or customized cars, he is in the car business though. He has been ever since he started working.
So i was doing some digging around the office and i found some Custom Rodder stickers, I wanted to send them to you since you have been here and keeping these forums alive.( and keeping me company for those days at work :smirk So if you want to, you can private message me your information and i will get them out to you as soon as i can.

I'm glad to hear your Dad is coming along OK.. Thanks for the offer on the stickers I have them on my tool box and on one wall of my garage that I keep the cars. My wife thinks I am nuts because that part of the garage has a checkerboard floor and I have all kinds of car things on the wall and such. Just some of your normal things like a traffic light, road signs, an old gas pump etc etc. I made a bench type seat out of the rear portion of a wrecked 66 GTO I came across in a junk yard a few years ago. It was fun to make and something different. I saw one in a mag and thought it looked cool so I had to make one for myself. My son is always been after me to put it in his room, but the thing is so heavy I don't think it's going to happen any time soon.

That great news about your Dad. There going to be a big truck and jeep show this weekend and I want to go. Last year they had a lot of customs as well as pull trucks. My friend just finished his 02 Dodge truck in June and WOW. He has over 740 hours in the paint alone. He did 98% of the work himself, well with some help from friends and his wife. If he goes to the show I'll try to take some fotos of it and send to you. It's really nice,Lambo doors, reverse opening hood and a bunch more.

The weather man is calling for rain this weekend so I hope it doesn't keep too many of the show trucks from coming out this weekend. I still plan on going either way. I got a fun jobfor the next couple of weeks, I buddy refered a guy to me that wants to make a tilt front for his 47 Dodge coupe. He wants it made from the original steel front end with hydraulic opening system. That will keep me out of mischief for a couple of weeks, well may just keep me busy as my wife would say. I have never been too busy to find some kind of mischief. I am forever embarasing my son. I guess that one of the jobs of being a parent.

I do have some buddies that g on the computer at times but most of them are looking for parts and other wise a little computer shy. I used to be but my job here has taught me a lot on how to use and find things I need,I am still a long way from being that great on the computer. I have spoke to a couple of them and they said they would try to be on it a little more, but probably more in the winter. As far as my son sometimes just being around when some of his buds are there is enough to embarras him. Usually it is something I say or do, his friends laugh but he thinks I'm going overboard. I still remember thinking that about my Dad at times but know looking back he was a lot more cool than I gave him credit for. I thought the guys just said he was neat to to make me feel better but they really did like some of his lame jokes and such. Know I'm the Dad and I guess it is my turn to do the lame stuff. The show did get rained out and not too many showed up, but they set a rain date for mid August so I'll try again then for some pictures.

Haha yea, i know a few people who dont know too much about the computers and stuff these days.
My parents did the same thing to me, my dad has these lame jokes, and he only knows 2 of them. thats it. so he tells them over and over and over again haha. Its def. your turn, then when he has children of his own hes gonna look back and remember what you did to him and think... i gotta do that to my kids.
well lets home it doesnt get rained out again... that would be no good

Well I've got the Comet close to being ready to paint. I decided to make a filler pan between the core support and the top of the grill. It has some weird curves on the top of thr grill but I think I got it looking good. I have always liked to have that open area covered, it just looks completed that way. I did spray the silver on the car, around the taillamps and the bumpers and some other little stuff. My wife is starting to become itchy to get it done and cruise around a little bit in it. I am too. The only hold up will be the fact after it is painted I still have to have an exhaust put on and I'm not sure which way to go with it. At the moment I don't have headers only OEM manifolds. But will figure it out before I have it painted next weekend.

I'm going to paint it a Candy Apple Red With Pearl Coat. I detailed and painted under the hood last night. I painted it Black with glod metalic. I like to do black under the hood so it woun't show the dirt as much since I plan on driving the car more than I would if I was doing more for show. I'm wanting to finish hooking up the gages tonight and Saturday I want to edge the doors, trunk and hood so I can reassemble it before I do the overall. The wheels will be the next thing to decide on after it is painted. At the moment I just have the stock rims painted Red with glamor ring and chrome moon caps. That will do for the rest of this season. By next year though I would like to have something better.
